The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Each NHS trust is now required to be registered with the CQC and is legally responsible for making sure it is compliant with the essential standards of Quality and Safety as below:

  • Co-operating with other providers

Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been registered with the CQC under the Health & Social Care Act 2008, without condition, since 1 April 2010 to provide the following services:

  • Treatment of disease, disorder or injury
  • Surgical procedures
  • Diagnostic and screening procedures
  • Maternity and midwifery services
  • Transport services, triage and medical advice provided remotely
  • Assessment or medical treatment for persons detained under the Mental Health Act 1983

The CQC check how NHS hospitals are meeting the essential standards of quality and safety though a programme of routine or risk based inspections and will share their findings with the public via their website.
